“It’s Now or Never” is just how I felt leaving the September 3rd GRAVA workshop. Sarah Milston, with the Spark Mill, did a wonderful job facilitating this session. She gave us information, explained the tools and showed us how to use Canva. I was motivated when I left the workshop to get started! I just had to take the plunge and it had to be Now!
Learning new skills and technologies is exciting and also sometimes a bit daunting. It reminds me of how important ongoing learning and training can be; not only for those who lead volunteers but also for our volunteers. Investing in training shows our volunteers that we value their time and want to make sure they are equipped with the skills sets needed to be successful in their current positions as well as potentially in future positions.
Stepping outside our comfort zone and trying new things is a choice. One that I hope you Never pass up. As we continue to learn, we continue to grow and change. Lifelong learning is empowering and has a lasting impact on us personally as well a professionally.
I hope many of you will join me Now in trying Canva and I look forward to seeing you and hearing about your Canva experience at the October Roundtable!
