At October’s Roundtable we continued the introduction to Canva, a free online design tool that allows anyone to create professional-quality graphic designs. (An overview of September’s program about Canva, including Sarah Milston’s excellent slide deck, are available in the September workshop summary.)
GRAVA board members Melissa Gilmore and Kyndall Drumheller led the discussion as many GRAVA members jumped in and offered tips on Canva’s features.
Attendees came away with valuable tips and techniques, got questions answered, and shared some of their successful Canva designs.
Prior to the roundtable, our hosts from FeedMore, Mary Catherine Savage and Tawana Demery, welcomed us and told us about the many ways that Meals on Wheels, Kid’s Cafes, Backpack Programs, Mobile Pantries, the Community Kitchen and partnerships with other agencies are providing delicious nutritional meals throughout 29 counties and 5 cities. Combating issues of food insecurity in our region, FeedMore is boosting healthy outcomes.
Debbie Friedman also gave a brief report on her experience using a GRAVA Scholarship so that she could attend the GRAVA Annual Conference in July of this year.
Afterwards, to great excitement, everyone present had an opportunity to help choose the new GRAVA logo, voting on 3 alternate logos and color palettes, all created in Canva by GRAVA PR Chair, Lauren Devitt.
